So you open the invitation and it says “Evening wear/Black Tie” and immediately you start to panic. What to wear!!! Because we all know that this dress code means that as guests we’re expected to put in a little effort.

There’s the trusted age-old advice that when it comes to evening wear, you should show arms or legs but not both at the same time.  I believe that the secret to a classy evening look is to choose a dress that best suits your body shape and personality making you feel beautiful and confidently you.

My dress was designed by Braemore Designs, an extremely talented fashion designer in South Africa. His fresh, unique style is incredibly inspiring. Follow Braemore Design on Facebook for some exciting news coming up!

When choosing accessories, as tempted as you may be to go all out, keep in mind that less is more. Wear either a statement necklace or statement earring and matching clutch purse to compliment your look.

My handsome date is wearing a tailored navy suit with a plain white shirt, tan shoe with matching tan belt and a nude satin tie to match my dress. For a strictly black tie event, a tux & bow tie would be a more fitting option.
